Make Your Summer Fun Reservations Now!
Hi! Welcome to our web page and our resort.
**** Double click photos for a better view ****
You'll love it up here!
We'd like to thank our new and repeat customers for their patronage and
positive feedback. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and pass the word.
W.P.R. is our little corner of northern Michigan's
great outdoors. We have four log cabin style units
located right on the upper Manistee river. We also have
a small campground with water and electric hookups
for RVs. Though the cabins were originally built in
the late 1940's their recent renovation has created a
cozy if not romantic indoor retreat. All the cabins
have cast iron gas log fireplaces, fully equipped
kitchens and cable TV, but no phones.
Early spring is the time for flyfishing on the Manistee.
Thats the best time to hit this section of the river.
As time moves into the summer most people come up
to canoe or kayak. This is a beginner level paddling river
though the upper reaches can require some tight manuevering
you can walk across on your knees in most places.
It maintains a cool temperature throughout the summer
Late fall brings hunters and get-away weekenders.
This year we will continue to work around the resort to
to improve the facilities and the campground. If you have
any suggestions or comments please e-mail us or leave a
note with our manager.
We are located on the Manistee River 5 miles west of
the small town of Frederic in the northern lower peninsula
of Michigan off county road 612 approximately 3 hours
north of Detroit by I-75. See our map!
